Happy Make-a-Gift-Day

So today is ‘Make a Gift’ day. What better way than to celebrate it with…. making a gift? I started off with a painting. I wanted to make a painting of the northern lights and stick christmas light behind  the canvas so it really has stars in the background. Unfortunately, it took me a little longer than I had planned and it’s still a work in progress. I can’t seem to get the northern lights to look the way I want them to look. But it’s ok, I’ll just keep on trying.

Because I wanted something I would actually finish today, I went to the charity shop to pick up some cups and saucers. I got some old candles, some wicks and started melting the candles and pouring them in the cups. Yes, I made cute candles in a cup. Look at this cutie pie:

Isn’t it gorgeous? I made two and absolutely love how cute they are. I’m not sure yet whether I’ll give them to someone or just keep them as a gift for myself. Either way, I think they make an adorable gift. Who wouldn’t want to get something like this? And the best part? You can easily make them yourself. You just melt some old ugly candles, reuse the wicks and voila: new, beautiful candles and an amazing handmade gift! What do you think? Will you make one for yourself or someone else as well? Let me know in a comment below!

Don’t forget, tomorrow is ‘Cookie Day’! To see what I have planned for that day, check back tomorrow!
