Tiny unicorn

My Teeny-Tiny Unicorn

I can knit and I can crochet, but I have never made a stuffed animal or something. Ah, the art of amigurumi. I already fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Because I wasn’t very experienced yet, I didn’t dare to start a project. Until about three days ago. I found the pattern for a super cute unicorn. I thought it would be a nice little project to start with. I could not be more wrong. The body and the head were done in no time. I was quite happy with those parts. Next came the legs, they turned out quite well too. Then, the horror started. I had to make the horn. I have tried it several times and ended up with something that looked like a horn. It was so hard for me to crochet in such a tiny circle. At this point, I was really frustrated. Next, I had to make the ears. They were a little bit bigger than the horn but still quite small. Somehow, I managed to finish the ears as well. When I compare my failed unicorn with the pretty unicorn in the pictures on the website, I get really sad. Ok, true… it was my first project. But, to me, it is far from perfect. Everybody in the house absolutely loved it and I got lots and lots of compliments about how cute it looked. So I guess it didn’t turn out as bad as I thought. I donated it to my stepdaughter because it fits perfectly in her room. She was very happy with it so that made me happy as well 🙂

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

  1. Yay for a first project ! 🙂 I’m super flattered you chose Tiny unicorn to start with stuffed animals ! You did a pretty good job considering that the horn is still not an easy part when you’re more experienced !
If I had an advice for next time, I would tell you to stuff a little bit less, as the stuffing is starting to show through the stitches…But I’m being pointy here, cause that’s really no big deal !

Congratulations on your first amigurumi 🙂

    See you !

I’m super flattered that you took the time to write something on my blog 😀 I’ll take your advice to heart (also agree with you, so it’s not pointy at all).
